I have severe scoliosis and two degenerative discs. Last fall I experienced sciatica on the affected side and was unable to work (I am a fitness instructor). I had three options. My first option was RICE (basically rest and ice), after a week, it was still a problem. My second option was to visit a pain or orthopedic MD. What I know of my spine, I will eventually need surgery to replace the two discs. But not yet and I believe relying on injections can harm the body and just relieve the symptom temporarily. The third option I chose was to see Dr. Teeter whom I had met several years ago with my mother.

On our first visit, Dr. Teeter spent a long time getting to know me as an individual. She LISTENED to me.

I could feel the first treatment begin a gradual healing, a natural healing. Being a fitness instructor, I have better than average knowledge of how the body works, both to be injured and to heal. And I know that real healing takes time.

I have recommended Acupuncture treatments to many people both before and after this experience. I had sought acupuncture many years ago for a pinched nerve in my neck and became a believer.

As a fitness instructor, I was discouraged about my future. I love what I do. But I was trying to figure out how to reinvent myself at age 61. Dr. Teeter gave me the emotional support to see that if I made adjustments in the way I work, I can do this forever.

My son is a Doctor of Physical Therapy, trained at the University of Michigan. Coming from the western school of thought on healing, he was very impressed at the outcome of my treatments. The University published a study a few months ago on Acupuncture. Their conclusion, it works. I agree.

At the end of an acupuncture treatment I feel like a Zen monk, as if I have been on a meditation retreat. I feel clear, relaxed, and happy.

I had my first experience with acupuncture in 2006. At the time, I was experiencing allergies and lived on Benedryl.  I have been Benedryl free ever since.  I reconnected with acupuncture when I found out you were back in Bradenton after your herbal studies. This is my first exposure to Chinese herbs. I feel very fortunate to have reconnected with Dr. T.  Ellen Teeter has done more for restoring my health than any other medical professional I have ever worked with.
Thank You - Sharon S, Bradenton, FL

I was suffering terribly and in constant pain because of fibromyalgia when I found Chinese medicine.  The herbs and acupuncture combined with the qigong exercises I learned got rid of that pain and most of the symptoms of the fibromyalgia.  I’ve continued using Chinese medicine to get rid of colds, recover more quickly from the flu and to control flare-ups of eye inflammation.  Ellen Teeter, AP treated me with acupuncture for more than a year.  I am so grateful to her for her understanding and empathetic care.

For years I was finding myself taking more and more prescription medications. I was overweight, a heavy smoker, fatigued, had atrial fibrillation and flutter and other medical conditions. At one time I counted eleven prescription medications. With the help of acupuncture and Chinese medicinal herbs I now take no prescription medications and seldom have even so much as a headache. The changes in my health were immediate, but subtle at first, progressing quickly to complete relief. I’ve been treated by four acupuncture physicians and Ellen Teeter, AP is definitely the best. I would still be seeing her regularly if she had not moved so far away. Her combination of empathy and talent is definitely rare and can only come to us by the grace of God.

Several years ago I visited another Acupuncture Physician in Sarasota with a painful leg. I walked out pain free.

Since then I have visited Ellen in Bradenton several years now whenever I have a pain that will not go way I come to her, and she always gets it to leave.

I take Chinese herbs for my bronchiectasis, a chronic lung problem which I have had for over 40 years. Thankfully it has stayed in remission as the next step is emphysema. At first it was with antibiotics for years, but the last 7 it has been with Chinese herbs.

I just recently had a treatment for a bruised leg a board had fallen on. It removed the pain again.

Thank you very much.

Sincerely,
Jeanette

When did you first discover acupuncture? I tried acupuncture for the first time in January 2000. I had heard of it a very long while ago but was jaded in my thoughts as to what the correlation of needles & pain meant.

What problems were you experiencing then?
I had been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia Syndrom (FMS), Osteoarthritis and a pain in my tailbone for which no one could find an answer. Acupuncture relieved the pain symptoms especially during the bi-monthly flares.

Have you continued using acupuncture since your original visits? If so, for what problems? What was your experience?  I continue using acupuncture on a weekly basis for right now. I get a great deal of relief since my FMS is air-borne viral driven, it used to come back as a major inflammation in the sciatic nerves at least 3-4 times a year. Medication, including the best prescribed pain pills, do not work anymore. I lose a lot of sleep, have no energy and am depressed. With acupuncture pain which used to last 2-3 wks., is now down to a week & I only have a couple of flares a yr.

What has been your experience with Ellen Teeter, AP?
Ellen Teeter, AP is a gentle, caring Dr. She gets to the source of the pain and tailors her treatments to the individual. She is not afraid to try new procedures and keeps up with the latest techniques. I am a big fan and have happily testified to her abilities and given out her cards.

Blessings to you & your new affiliation.
